The New Neighbors

Some people swore that the house was haunted. They always had their suspicions. Whenever someone was sitting on the couch in the bright yellow living room, a picture would fall off the wall. It was always the same picture, but nobody ever out it back on the wall. But it somehow always ended back up on the wall, in it's original spot.

The new neighbors from down the street came up the walk, not knowing about the house's "history". The front porch's stairs creaked with every step, one by one. There was four individuals, a husband, a wife, a son, a daughter. The four of them stood in a line in front of the door, as if they knew what they were walking into. The husband knocked, echoing around them.

The door slightly opened as the husband shouted, "Hello?!" But there was no answer. He decided to be brave and walk inside, leaving his family out in the cold.

He walked around the entire house, with nobody to be found. As he started to head down the stairs, he heard a door slam. Then a "click." He finished down the stairs to see the front door shut and locked.

The lock wouldn't budge. The house started to shake, voices lingering around him. Not knowing what to do, he just stood there hopeless.

The shaking stopped, he walked out the front door. His wife said, "You looked like you've seen a ghost." Nothing was ever the same again after that.
