A long time ago, 1883 to be exact, there was a small town not far out into the great plains. I have lived here, in this small town, my whole life. There was a problem with our town though. Our mayor thought there should only be 150 people in our town. So if there was 151 people he would kick someone out of our town, no matter age, or who long they have been here.
The mayor kept a list of everyone in the town. I beleive it is organized in alphabetical order, but I am really unsure. My problem with the list is my name is next. So the next person who comes in the town is going to gett me a long and lonely trip out of here.
During the next quiet few nights, my worries of leaving town were the worst.
A knock on my door interupted the nice quiet evening. "Somebody has arrived to town and, as you know, you have to leave," the mayor said.
" I know I have been worried about that," I said sadily.
That day I left the town and i was destined to never return again.
